Microscopy characterizations of NPs. Transmission electron microscope (JEOL 2000 FX) and scanning electron microscope (JEOL 6700F High resolution) images of FW2 (A, F), P60 (B, G), LB101 (C, H), TiO2-15 (D, I) and TiO2-50 (E, J). NPs stock solutions (2 mg/ml) in RPMI 1640-serum free medium were prepared as described in Methods section (MET scale bars A: 50 nm, B D and E: 100 nm, C: 500 nm – MEB scale bars: F and G: 100 nm, H, I, and J: 1 μm). Distribution size histograms expressed as percentage were calculated using SIS software.
