SEM of 1.5 μm Fe2O3 particles (panels A + C) and of 0.5 μm Fe2O3 particles (panels B + D); magnifications of original SEM pictures in panels A + B are 5K; magnification of close-ups of SEM pictures in panel C is 13K and in panel D is 17K. The larger magnifications show the rough surface area of the spherical Fe2O3 particles of both sizes as an indicator for their moderate porosity.
