The intravenous exposure of AgNPs induced peripheral inflammation in liver. AgNPs in the circulating blood were taken up by vascular endothelial cells, which elevated the intracellular ROS level and reduced the conjunction between endothelial cells. The leakiness of endothelial cells resulted in the peripheral inflammation. On the contrary, little Ag ions were taken up by the cells
