TiO2 NPs induced an increase in oxygen reactive species production at different times. a-f U937 cells were culture with 0.3, 1, 3, 10, 30 and 100 μg/mL of TiO2 NPs of 50 nm for 10, 30 min, 2, 4, 8, 24 h respectively and H202 (300 μM, positive control) or without treatment (negative control). ROS concentration was evaluated using H2DCFDA and flow cytometry. The results were expressed as a percentage of expression (fluorescencence intensity with respect to control) and as mean ± SD of three separate experiments. The largest effect was observed after 4 h of exposure. * p < 0.05 vs negative control
