Fig. 6From: Dose-dependent induction of astrocyte activation and reactive astrogliosis in mouse brain following maternal exposure to carbon black nanoparticleExpression levels of mRNA in the cerebral cortices of offspring. Expression levels of mRNA selected from microarray data and the gene annotation analysis were analyzed by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Relative expression levels of the target genes were calculated for each sample after normalization against Gapdh. A one-way ANOVA followed by post hoc Dunnett tests revealed significant increases in Flt1 (a), Sox17 (d), Tgfa (f), and Cyr61 (h) gene expression in the cerebral cortices of high-dose group offspring compared to the control group. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01 vs. control. Kdr (b), Nos3 (c), and Tbx1 (e) showed non-significant increases in gene expression in the cerebral cortices of high-dose group offspring compared to the control group. Up-regulation of Tie1 (g) and Cxcl12 (i) gene expression was not observed in each groupsBack to article page
