A pilot study to evaluate the lung deposition rate (a) and retention rate (b) of CNMs. To evaluate the deposition rate in comparison with the nominal treatment dose, mice were sacrificed immediately after a single pharyngeal aspiration and lung burden analysis was performed. To evaluate the retention rate of CNMs at 24 h, mice were sacrificed at 24 h after a pharyngeal aspiration. Mice were given 30 μg/mouse of CNMs and the concentration of these CNMs in the lungs was quantified using PK digestion and UV-Vis spectrophotometry at each time-point.
