COC expansion in the presence of increasing concentrations of ZnO NPs NM-110 and NM-11. For each type of NPs, the first lane of micrographs shows COC morphology after 16 h of culture; at that time, the trypan blue staining was performed to identify dead cells, as shown in the second lane. Control culture (CTRL) without the addition of NPs was carried out in parallel. In all samples, the extent of COC expansion was assessed at the end of the culture time (16 h) and expressed as expansion index (Ei)
