Percent viability of BEAS-2B, clone 9, HaCaT, HEK293, THP-1, and IEC-6 cells affected by respective exposures to A SCS, B LCS, C SAS, and D LAS. Each cell type was treated with any of the four AgNP types at the indicated doses (0.5, 1, 5, 10 and 15 µg/ml) for 24 and 48 h, respectively. Relative quantity of viable cells was then quantified by the MTS assay. Results were representative of three independent experiments performed in triplicate. *(P < 0.05), **(P < 0.01) and *** (P < 0.005) denote significant differences between the control (i.e., 0 µg/ml) and treatment groups at the same time point
