From: Role of pyrite in formation of hydroxyl radicals in coal: possible implications for human health
OH generation from coal/water slurries using APF. 40 m2/L coal loadings were mixed with an APF solution for 24 hrs followed by filtration and fluorescence measurements. The insert shows •OH formation as a function of total pyritic sulfur present in the coal samples. Fluorescent intensity has been converted to •OHAPF by a factor determined by reacting APF with known concentrations of H2O2 and HRP.
