From: Silica-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation in vitro and in rat lungs
Silica polymorph-induced caspase-1 activity in human bronchial epithelial cells. Caspase-1 enzymatic activity was assayed in lysates of BEAS-2B cells exposed to different silica polymorphs at a dose of 150 x 106 μm2/cm2 for 24 h. Caspase-1 activities are expressed as mean arbitrary units (O.D. 405 nm /total protein concentration (mg/mL)) ± SEM with * p-value <0.05 compared to UC, and # p-value <0.05 compared to DQ12.
