CNG-PM induces secretion of distinct cytokines compared to LPS in human iMGLs. Cytokine production was evaluated using proteome profiler arrays. Cells were stimulated for 24 h, and supernatants were harvested, pooled from three technical replicates and used for experiments. a Representative dot plots for vehicle, CNG50 and LPS 20 ng ml−1 cytokine arrays. b Fold change in mean spot intensity of CNG50 compared to vehicle represented as a heat map for analytes with p < 0.18. Turquoise upregulated cytokines; white unchanged; grey downregulated cytokines. c Respective fold change in mean spot intensity of LPS compared to vehicle represented as a heat map for analytes with p < 0.18. d Quantification of heatmap data presented as bar graphs. Data as mean ± SEM. Non-parametric Kruskal–Wallis test followed by Dunn’s test. *p < 0.05, **< 0.01, ***p < 0.001. n = 3 biological replicates each containing 3 pooled technical replicates.
